OVERALLLOOKS| Rowan’s most distinctive feature is perhaps that she’s quite short for her age, standing at a relatively petite five foot three. She’s rather slender as well though she’s decently built. Though quite vain about her appearance, often spending large amounts of time on her hair, make-up and clothing, which must all be up to the minute and completely on trend, she does have fun with experimenting. One day she might try to look more preppy whilst the next might see her decked out in ‘gothic chic’. She does know she’s attractive and she has fun with it. After all, what else is fashion but a game?
What I like and hate
I LOVE THIS| Rowan is a huge shopping addict. She loves to shop, whether it’s just for something as simple as food or finer things like clothing and jewelry. She’s also a bit of a ‘salt addict’, usually craving salty foods which are usually junk food, like chips or nachos on top of it. She loves having fun no matter what she’s doing and tends to be a major risk taker to the point of being a little stupid by doing crazy things just for the thrill of it. Absolutely unabashed in her looks or behavior, Rowan’s also quite the flirt and has no problem flirting with most anything that walks and leaving boys hanging. Since she is as she is and doubts it will have any lasting effects on her health, Rowen took up smoking a few years ago. She enjoys being able to have a cigarette now and again, whether it’s because it makes her look ‘cool’ at the moment she does it or just because it’s something to do. However, given her easily-addicted personality, she’s become a bit more dependent on them than she would like to admit. Most of all though, she’s rather simple with her one major love in this world which is, of course, her friends and family, all of whom she’s incredibly loyal to.
I HATE THIS| Rowan has a incredibly strong sense of smell most times and absolutely abhors anything that smells bad or things that smell too strongly, like some perfumes or colognes and the like. She’s not at all a fan of noisy, annoying music either, steering far away from screamo heavy-metal, which she considers ‘just noise’. She’s not a fan of sweet foods or really heavy meals, preferring to snack here and there. She cannot stand snobby people who think they are all that and won’t hesitate to attempt to cut their ego in two with all she has. She doesn’t like to be told no at all. She’s very free and will readily give others complete freedom to do as they like as long as they don’t interfere with what she wants to do. If they try to tell her she can’t do something, she can turn quite nasty and is likely to do it anyways just to spite them.
MY STRENGTHS| Rowan is a very intelligent person and can usually figure out other people – their motives, their lies, etc. – pretty easily. She’s also quite strong, given her Day-walker status and can move pretty quickly. She’s fiercely loyal to those around her and as such is so determined to protect them that she will refuse to give in or give up on anything until she’s completely wiped out and unable to go any farther. She’s also quite easy to talk to and really doesn’t stress out about much.
MY WEAKNESSES| Rowan has a temper that, though it doesn’t often flare up, is destructive and violent when it’s ignited. She’ll not care who she’s hurting at the time and will simply want to hurt or kill everything in sight, making her a liability when upset. She’s also quite tactless most times, being rude or snarky without realizing or often caring if it would hurt others feelings. Stubborn to a fault, Rowan doesn’t know the meaning of the word compromise and won’t change her mind to suit anyone, making her annoying at times to deal with. She can also be accused at times of being a little selfish and self-centered.
OVERALL PERSONALITY| Rowan can easily be described in one word – fun. She constantly wants to be having fun and persues it with ardor. She’ll try anything if it sounds interesting or like it might be an adventure, no matter how stupid or crazy it might be. She’s a bit selfish in this regard though, as she will shirk off on responsibilities that she just thinks are boring and not worth her precious time or back out of plans at the very last second for no other reason than that something that sounded more fun came up. However, she’s not completely self-absorbed in regards to fun. She’ll always try to make sure that everyone around her is also having fun, going to extreme lengths at times just to make sure that those around her are happy, smiling and having as much fun as they can. Her idea of fun is also wildly varied and to her, making others happy is not only a bit self-rewarding but a whole bundle of fun.
Rowan is quite intelligent though when she’s rather below-par in school. School to her is boring and she tends to skip classes and play hooky. When she does show up to classes, she simply doesn’t put much effort into anything because it just isn’t fun to her. Given her mother’s success as an artist and her step-father’s wealth, money’s really been the thing to get her into decent schools and she relies totally on money to get her into good schools in the future, not worrying at all about her bad grades. Besides, her intelligence tends to lend itself better to figuring out things she does find interesting – like people. Each person is their own little jig-saw puzzle, a Rubik’s cube of mysteries and nothing is quite as fun as cracking a good puzzle leading Rowan to take an extreme interest in cracking each person open and figuring out what makes them tick. Maybe it’s because of her powers or maybe it’s just a natural talent and interest in understanding others, but Rowan does tend to ‘get’ people quite easily, being able to detect when they’re bluffing or blustering, whether they’re good people or bad people, etc. within a rather short length of time.
Rowan’s a bit high-maintanance and super-confident and doesn’t think at all that this is a bad thing. Though she’s more go-with-the-flow than truly diva-esque, she does fully expect people to see her as fabulous as she thinks she is and pay her lots of attention. She’s always been much more of a ‘taker’ than a ‘giver’ that way. However self-absorbed this is, she just counts it off as a result of being naturally fabulous. However, this self-absorbed mega-confidence also extends to her friends and anyone else she takes interest in. After all, if she’s taken an interest in someone or counts them as a friend, it’s because they’re obviously as fabulous as she is. Well, maybe not quite as fabulous. Her ego won’t handle her not being the best in her own mind so other people, even her closest friends, are just a smidgen less fabulous than she is in her mind – but only just a smidgen.
She doesn’t exactly cotton to people looking down or underestimating her or anything and anyone that she finds an interest in. In fact, this is one of the few things, other than hurting someone dear to her, that will fire up Rowan’s temper. Nobody looks down on her, her friends, or her interests like they’re nothing more than trash. They just don’t. And if by chance, someone does spark her temper by doing this or by hurting her friends and family, Rowan will do everything in her power to hurt them as bad as she can. Her temper is rarely seen but awful in it’s intensity because, when angry, Rowan cares little about who or what she crushes alongside her target just as long as the person who upsets her is nothing but a bloody pulp when she’s done with them.
Rowan, despite her selfishness and self-absorbed tendencies, is a surprisingly loyal friend though. People are her friends for a reason and given her stubbornness, that fact will never change despite what people say or even what that person does. She takes friendship seriously – friends should always be there for each other and protect one another and she aims to never fail as a friend.
Rowan has a very dry wit and is very tactless at times. She says what she thinks when she thinks it and doesn’t much care if it would hurt. It’s her honest opinion after all – would they rather she lie? Her humor even tends to be tactless, being highly sarcastic and even down-right rude and snarky at times.
Lastly, Rowan is extremely stubborn. She is an unmovable force once she makes up her mind about something. Whether she decides to hate or love someone or something or decides to take up some cause – even if it’s a seemingly lost cause – she’s done so for a valid reason and nothing anyone says is going to change that. In fact, trying to talk her out of some set opinion will only make her dig her heels in, grit her teeth and become more firmly convinced that you are very wrong and she is very right. Keep pushing and she’ll start to get upset.

OVERALL HISTORY| Rowan was born on the first of March seventeen years ago to a single, unattached woman named Maria Peterson. No father was named on her birth certificate and for much of her life, Rowan would know nothing about her biological father.
Rowan’s childhood was pretty normal. Rowan was a rather spoiled child since her mother, a successful artist, worked at home and had plenty of time and money to spoil her only daughter. However, Rowan was anything but normal. For years, she had a vocarious appetite, eating tons and never feeling full. She was a pretty chubby child for much of her childhood because of this. She also had a horrible biting habit that her mother could never break her of. For some reason, she always felt compelled to bite people, animals, anything really. She liked the act of biting, liked the feel of skin under her teeth and would often break through the skin until she could feel the blood coming into her mouth. Oddly enough, she also seemed to really enjoy the taste of blood as well.
It wasn’t until she was about eight that she began to notice these weird habits of hers. This was also about the time she began to wonder why everyone around her seemed to have fathers to spend time with them and all she had was a mother. But she didn’t want to bother her mother, who she really did love with all her heart, with these questions so she tried to work them out for herself. She took up jogging, finding that it helped her relax and focus and gave her time to work out the thoughts that were constantly going in her head. She became a regular site on the trails around Gallows Hill.
It was two years later before everything that had been brewing for the last two years finally came to a head. Rowen had taken a jog that evening, needing to get out of the house and away from people for a while because she was beginning to feel more and more odd – moody all the time, aware of everything, dizzy, but most of all hungry. She’d chosen a trail that led through a patch of thick, mostly untraveled woods for this very reason. However, it seemed the trail was getting a bit too much travel that even because, right in front of her, she spied an middle-aged man, dressed in an expensive jogging suit, going at a leisurely pace while he tuned out to a portable walk-man. She didn’t know why she did it…she never thought about it at the time and she couldn’t ever figure out why in the later years. It took all of about two seconds for her to overtake him, grabbing a large rock from the ground and smashing him over the head with it. He fell unconscious to the ground, never aware of what had hit him or who. She dropped right beside him, bit into his neck and starting drinking. Finally, that thirst and hunger seemed to quench but still, she kept drinking and drinking until no more came. She’d completely extingunated him.
Of course, being only ten and more than a little freaked out, she did what any child would – she rushed home to mother. Her mother freaked out as well, seeing her child come home bloody and looking scared and panicked. As Maria helped Rowan clean up and listened to her account of what had happened, she knew what had to be done. It was at this point, in hushed but confident tones that told her daughter that her mother wasn’t making this up and wasn’t crazy, that Maria told her daughter why her father wasn’t around. He had been a vampire – he hadn’t been supposed to be able to have children with a human and had just been a fling. Maria hadn’t known what he was until it was too late and she was already pregnant. When she’d found out though, that he was a vampire, she’d been scared of him, afraid of what he’d do to her and to her child, and had fled back to her home-town of Gallows Hills from New York, where she had been staying at the time. She’d never have thought that Rowan would get any of his traits though. But she did and Maria told Rowan in no uncertain terms that she’d have to learn how to control this.
In the years that came, Rowan worked on learning about herself and what she could do. She quickly figured out that she could choose to drink blood or not drink blood. She didn’t absolutely need it to live – she could live as a human, never drinking blood and simply dealing constantly with that overbearing hunger. Or she could give in to the hunger and drink blood, which turned her into something a bit more than human. She became stronger, faster, her senses became sharper. But still…those things came at a price. She was young and reckless though and those enhanced abilities fascinated and excited her and she thought nothing of having to drink other people’s blood – she liked the taste after all and it was better than the hunger. She just learned sneakier ways to go about drinking, ways to make sure that she didn’t kill the person she drank from.
When Rowan was thirteen, her mother started dating a man who had recently moved into town. Stephen Rossi was successful, rich and handsome and more importantly, he seemed to really care about her mother. Rowan didn’t like him all too much and she hated his three annoying brats from his previous marriage, who lived with him on weekends and holidays, but she put up with him for her mother’s sake. And besides, he was pretty good with the bribes, always offering to pay for stuff for her and the like to stay on her good side. When he and her mother married six months later, Rowan gave them her blessing though life became a bit harder. She began having to sneak around her own house, given that Stephen and his children didn’t, and still don’t, know about what she is. She dealt with it though, even growing to like him a bit, even though she still hated his children.
During high-school, Rowan went to some private school that Stephen had paid for though she often skipped. However, money was enough of a motivator to keep her advancing with just barely above passing marks and she really stopped caring at all about school.
Recently, Rowan was instructed along with Jessica and Brigitte to travel to Ipswich to protect the Sons there. She, of course, thinks of this as nothing more than just a new, huge adventure and is having a blast in Ipswich. She’s made friends, met lots of cute guys – though she seems to be a bit more into a certain one than others – and is just generally having a ball with it.
