OVERALL PERSONALITY| Desire is a pleasant young woman but not one to be crossed, ever; if you do you do it on pain of death. Like the saying says ‘Hell hath no fury like love to hatred turned nor hell a fury like a women scorned' this girls one you really don’t want to scorn. Desire can be sweet but like the ocean she can be restless and dangerous. When most people first meet Desire she is viewed as friendly unless you’re a guy that is planning on trying to have his wicked way with her, that is not a very good idea since she won’t take very kindly to it. She is a naturally seductive young woman who can be quite the temptress when she wants to be despite this however she is actually very innocent for a woman her age. Behind her flirty personality is a girl afraid of getting close to someone, she’s had bad experiences with men in the past and finds it very hard to trust them though she would gladly put her life in their hands. She would be a lot more reluctant to do so with her heart.
Though the friendly side of Desire is the most commonly seen side of her those who truly know her and have witnessed her fouler mood know that it’s best to not upset her if you value your life. True she doesn’t mind getting into fights but she can honestly say that she has never started a fight without a good reason. In her opinion there are only three things worth fighting for; your family and those you care for, your life and what’s left of your humanity. She hardly ever looses her temper but even when she does, she calms down very quickly. Usually she removes herself from the company of others as not to saying or doing something she could later regret.
She is protective of her friends and won't allow anyone to push her friends or herself around, she isn't the sort of girl to back out of a challenge and if you try to push her around your challenging her so watch out, she also doesn’t like to be confined and restricted. She has a warm heart under the defensive layers, she is an avid lover of literature and is known to be a very romantic individual who would do anything for her family, she has a habit of spying on them to make sure they are alright.

OVERALL HISTORY| It was into a family ruled by chaos and deceit that the child Lamica Alexandros was born into. Her mother was a proud and in most respects a truly noble woman, a witch no less, who was regarded very highly by her peers and not just because of the fact that she was fourth in line to the Venetian throne. From the very beginning of her parents marriage it was clear that theirwas no love, affection or even loyalty between them. The night after they were married her father took a mistress, which as expected did not go down well with her mother but her mother was a clever woman who knew there was more than one way to skin a cat. It was obvious to any on lookers that they didn’t like each other in the slightest but who would dare to say anything when it was a members of the Royal family?
After ten years of marriage to a man who tried to make a mockery of her Aleena had what she needed, a child. The unborn Lamica was expected to play a major role in the down fall of her father. The lack of love between her parents was reflected in the upbringing of Lamica who received little to no love from either of her parents or so most would believe from what they‘d witnessed, any affection she was given as a child was from her nanny who thought the world of the young witch Lamica. Her childhood flew by so she could only imagine that she had a happy one after all, wasn’t the saying ‘time flies when your having fun’? The fact that her father kept many mistresses was never hidden from Katherine, for some unknown reason they all felt the need to introduce themselves to her. Had she been a witch of Black Magic then they would have been in trouble.
When Lamica was only fourteen it was announced that she would be married to a young man named Alistair, Katherine knew this was what her parents kept on referring to as her duty to her family and accepted the arrangement without question and with low expectations, possibly because she‘d already seen that Alistair and herself would get along better than she and her father. She was pleasantly surprised however when she met her match for the first time, her betrothed was the same age as her and was thought very handsome, even Lamica thought he was handsome. The youngsters weren’t to be married however until they were eighteen which gave them time to get to know each other, they grew to love each other as friends and both looked forward to being married because it meant that they would at least be with someone who understood them but happiness was to be denied them. Over the years Lamica had gathered a close circle of friends, a few of which were witches, a few of which were humans while one was a vampire, Dante, who’d saved her fathers life and in return had been given some land on which he and his children could live. Had these events not have occurred then the one that Katherine loved would have died. He’d been robbed and was gravely hurt, human ‘doctors’ of the time wouldn’t have been able to save him so in desperation she turned to Dante who couldn’t bare to see his friend so sad and agreed to turn Alistair.
Alistair was turned and with the help of one of Dante’s children left the province, promising he would see Lamica again. A promise that wasn’t meant to be kept.
The age of nineteen marked tragedy. Lamica was poisoned by one of her fathers mistresses who’d learnt that Aleena planned to use the girl to get rid of her husband and knew that getting rid of the girl would stop the threat but…she hadn’t expected the reaction of the girls father. Mathias loved his daughter though he’d never showed it openly to Lamica, only her nanny knew that Mathias loved the girl more than anything. He beseeched Dante to turn her while she could still be saved so that she could out live her parents as he felt it was meant to be, he didn’t want to see his daughter die. Dante agreed, it had always been his desire to turn Lamica because of her magical talents which in his eyes made her a likely companion for him and now seemed like the right time. Dante stayed with her, doing what he could to help her through the change.
A few days after her ‘funeral’ Lamica spoke to her father for what would be the second last time then left the province like her husband to be not even a year before her.
It didn’t take long for the reborn Lamica to leave the memories of her family and travelling as she’d always wanted to, she was forever getting herself into trouble but she couldn’t help it. Lamica also fell quickly into her life as a vampire, though she was still very much in touch with her humanity and because of this followed Dante’s lead in taking up the ‘humane diet’ as he called it where they put their victims to sleep while they fed. They spent months searching for Alistair, aware of the fact that he’d been informed of her death but not of her rebirth, when Dante and Lamica eventually found him to say that he was somewhat surprised to find the woman he loved standing on his doorstep. His first instinct was to hug her and see if she were real. It was that night that she met the rest of the Valentine family, former witches that were turned by Dante. It was at that time that she changed her name, Desire was given to her by Alistair while she took Dante’s last name, Valentine.
For nearly three hundred years they travelled without incident, until they met their untimely end when their safe house was set on fire while they slept…Desire and Alistair were the only survivors and were horrified by what had happened. Desire and Alistair were assumed dead with the rest of their family but in secret they slipped out of town, taking only a few changes of clothes. They went underground, vanishing from the world and only emerging when they needed to feed until grief and despair drove them to sleep two centuries away.
Desire was the first to awaken to the changing world, the world had changed much in the six hundred years since she was born and at first the changes overwhelmed her but she soon adjusted and ventured further from her resting place in New Orleans. She even returned to Venice to see how much it had changed since her sorrowful parting from her home. She never stayed away from the resting place for long out of fear of losing Alistair and was lucky that he never awoke while she was gone. When he awoke nearly two hundred years after Desires’ awakening they once again started travelling, working here and there for the fun of it before eventually arriving in Ipswich at the request of Desire who wanted somewhere small and quiet where they could stay for a while and not attract too much attention. Alistair didn’t put up much resistance and they soon moved into a manor just outside of town.
Their story was simple, Desire was an heiress and model who was seeking refuge from the press following the deaths of her parents in a tragic accident and Alistair was her faithful bodyguard; after settling in Desire got a job at Nicki’s while Alistair continued to act as her bodyguard. Everything was going fine until Desire went on a date; Alistair had secretly been in love with Desire since their reunion but had never told her so seeing her with another man made him quite jealous to say the least. Despite his jealousy however he never acted on his feelings, not wanting to pressure her into anything or push her away.
He may be acting fine towards Desire but after learning that Chase Collins and Caleb Danvers have caught her attention it doesn’t take long for him to begin acting cold towards them which Desire soon picked up on and confronted him about. A fight broke out when Alistair said that she was no better than the mistresses her father took, unaware that it was one of said mistresses that killed her. In the aftermath of the fight that left the living room of the manor in quite a state Alistair was no where to be found, having fled from the shame of beating the woman he loved half way to death. Not that she’d stood there and taken it, he only had less wounds that her due to the fact that he threw her through a stair banister. The fight left Desire unconscious in the foyer…
